Story
The Cannoneer was just a regular Beginner who was sailing on a ship to Maple Island and following the process of the Beginner steps, until a Jr. Balrog appeared and started attacking the boat. The Cannoneer were unable to fight back, and eventually the Jr. Balrog knocked the Cannoneer far into the water where he nearly drowned. Fortunately, a monkey saved him and brought him to Coco Island.

After getting acquainted with the monkey, the Cannoneer meets Cutter, a Pirate and weapons designer who worked for the Nautilus. He had created a Cannon, however during a test run he and his ship accidentally ran into a rock and he found himself on Coco Island. The Cannoneer then does several errands for Cutter to build a large cannon in order to launch them back to Nautilus Harbor. The Cannoneer along with his monkey are then recruited by the Pirates.

Story
After the battle with the Black Mage, Mercedes fell unconscious.
A Mapler who traveled from the future to Leafre of Past while tracking Arkarium found the unconscious Mercedes and revived her using the Essence of Afrien.

Moments later, she wakes up and spots Freud and Afrien. The Onyx Dragon tells her that his master took the curse to protect him and died (although Evan's story says that Afrien took the curse and was frozen and Freud ran away to protect his egg). Even though Afrien was very weak, he managed to leave behind an egg to what would be Mir in the next century. He also takes Mercedes back to her hometown, Elluel, victim of the Black Mage's curse.

The Elf Queen warns her citizens about the curse and tries doing everything in her power to prevent it from happening, even going so forth to seal off Elluel from the outside world. However, her attempts were futile; one by one, the Elves were encased in ice. It would only be a matter of time before Mercedes would be frozen, too...

A hundred years later, Mercedes finally awakes, although she only remembers it as yesterday. However, her people still remained trapped in the icy cold. She then decides to head to the outside world to receive help. She noticed that the barrier had vanished as it had intended to last a hundred years, she also notices that her level had dropped from 200 to 10, causing her to shout in anger.

She calms down and recaps the events. Soon, Mercedes decides to train herself in order to receive enough strength to venture to the outer world. After gaining a few levels, she notices that the Slimes had grown weaker. Mercedes then heads out into the Maple World to find out what has happened in all this time.

"I'm on my way to face the Black Mage, my former master. The absolute ruler himself... I can serve him no longer! Some might call me a traitor... But the real traitor is the Black Mage himself."
— Demon Slayer[/center]

Story
The Demon Slayer's story begins at the Temple of Time, approximately a hundred years ago.

The Demon Slayer had served under the Black Mage for many years, and suddenly realizes he had became an absolute ruler and could no longer serve him. He encounters his henchman, Mastema, and demands her who she serves. After she admits her loyalty to the Demon Slayer, he tells her to deliver a letter to the Heroes. Despite the concern, she agrees.
Earlier that day, there was a meeting between the Demon Slayer and the three other Black Wing Commanders: Orchid, Von Leon and Arkarium. During the meeting, they mentioned that the Black Mage demanded everything destroyed. This alarms the Demon Slayer, as his family was located near Leafre, one of the burning sites. He quickly leaves to that destination. However, all he could find was a locket of his deceased mother and brother.

Back in the current time, the vengeful Demon Slayer attacks Arkarium as he tries to enter the Black Mage's throne, but to no avail. Arkarium summons a few Lykas, but are quickly defeated by the Demon Slayer. As Arkarium is about to make an all out attack on the Demon Slayer, the Black Mage opens up his doors, granting Demon Slayer permission to enter. A short battle scene plays, and Demon Slayer is sealed in an Egg for a long time after his defeat.

In present day, the Demon Slayer finds his energy dropping. He quickly breaks out and finds himself in the Black Wings' base in Edelstein, and realizes that he has dramatically weakened. When the Black Wings Rabbit Guards attempt to capture him, the Demon Slayer kills them with ease. J, a Resistance member who just witnessed the whole thing, explains the situation. The Demon Slayer collapses and faints, but is quickly brought to the Resistance hideout.

In the Resistance Base, the Demon Slayer begins to recap all the events. He then overhears the other Resistance members talking about him, and J takes the Demon Slayer out of the room. The rest of the Resistance members start interrogating him. They eventually come to the conclusion to recruit him into the Resistance in order to be able to defeat the Black Wings.

From then on, the Demon Slayer is bent on revenge, tracking down the Black Mage for the rest of his life to avenge his family, and killing those who betrayed him.
